This is a German Model 1896 (C-96) Mauser "Broom Handle" pistol in .30 Mauser caliber. The handgun is marked: on the right side, "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR", on the left side, "VON LENGERKE & DIETMOLD NEW-YORK." Imported by Von Lengerke & Detmold as marked on the right side of the frame. The piece is a small hammer ring pistol showing all original matching numbers. Serial number "62723" and was manufactured in 1905. Short two ribbed extractor. Rare original piece.

No bids can be withdrawn after the auction for any reason. Consent to Suit in Montana. In the event of legal proceedings arising from this contract or from the auction in connection therewith, buyer consents to being subject to the personal jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Montana. Buyer also agrees that venue shall be in Gallatin County, Montana and that the laws of the State of Montana shall govern this Agreement and the parties' transaction hereunder. The BUYER expressly agrees to indemnify and save the Auction Co., Seller and their assigns harmless from and against all claims, losses, expenses, damage or liability, (including, but not limited to, attorney's fees), directly or indirectly caused by or resulting from Buyer's negligent acts or omissions or breach of this agreement, except for damages caused by or resulting from the Auction Co.'s sole negligence. All items must be paid for prior to removal; if storage arrangements are not made in advance of bidding on items. Storage will start March 22th 2015 and will be charged $10 per day per item. If there is a dispute on the authenticity of an item, the only professional opinion that will be considered is from a curator of a well-known museum.
