German JAEGER rifle circa mid to late 18th century with engraved brass mounts and lock showing hunting and game scenes. The rifle measures 38" overall with a 23-1/2" barrel of approx. 62 caliber showing 7 deep grooverifling. The lock is in excellent reconversion to Flint and the patch box door cover also expertly restored and carved to match. Both the hammer and brass mount on patch box door have been engraved to match.The stock shows good quality carving and molding and has been lightly refinished. The lock and barrel also show some light restoration and re-coloring. A matching horn, forend and ramrod are included. A good Jaeger with well done restoration. Est.;$1,750-$3,500.
