German Egyptologist Emile Brugsch signs his name to a document written in French from the ''Palais de Guizeh'' on 27 July 1899. Brugsch signs ''Emile Brugsch'' as Director General of the ''Service des Antiquites'' on official letterhead. The evacuation of a cache of mummies at Deir el-Bahri under Brugsch's direction in 1881 brought him notoriety and led to a curator position at the Bulaq Museum. Signed document measures 8.5'' x 11''. Some light chipping and toning else very good condition. Lot also contains two related documents.
