German Cavalry Hussars Sword, M1889. Made by; W.K. & C (Westersberg, Kirschbaam & Co Solingon). A fine example with nickeled pommel cap and tang button, ribbed black gutta-percha grip, nickeled D. shaped knuckle bow with branches and hinged guard with imperial eagle. The single edge straight blade is inscribed "Hus. Regt. Konig Humbert V. Italian (1 Kurhessen) No 13", and letter "U" (Umberto) and crown. The blade is also etched & blued in Part with mounted troopers. Comes with its original metal scabbard with one carry ring and inscription "R13 1139" which also appears on the quillon of the sword. Fine condition: Blade slightly bent and restraightened several small breaks in guard. Scabbard has small dents and lacks throat piece.
