Literature:
Note: In 1945 Gerard Dillon's sister Molly acquired a house at 102 Abbey Road, London, N.W.6 and Dillon converted the basement floor into a flat where he would live on and off from 1945 until the mid 60s. Shortly after the war Abbey Road became an artistic mecca in London with several of Dillon's artist friends socialising and living on and off there during this period. James White in his text Gerard Dillon: An Illustrated Biography, Wolfhound Press, 1994, p.50 and 63, elaborates on this period in Abbey Road, Dillon's quirky relationship with his sister and landlady and the eclectic circle of people including George Campbell, Noreen Rice, Arthur Armstrong among others who visited the address.
