Ford: Signed </B></I><B><I>Portrait of an Assassin</B></I></B></I> (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1965), first edition, 510 pages, untrimmed, red-cloth binding with gold lettering and black decorations, 8vo (8.75” x 5.75”), dust jacket (in protective sleeve). After serving on the Warren Commission investigating the assassination of President Kennedy, Gerald Ford was assigned to prepare this biography of Lee Harvey Oswald. Collaborating with his Congressional campaign manager John R. Stiles, Ford completed the work in 1965, while he was serving as House Minority Leader. The title page is signed “Gerald R. Ford” in blue ink.
