Souvenir free franked personal mailing envelope, 7.5 x 4, “franked” in the upper right corner, “Gerald R. Ford.” The unaddressed envelope bears an August 18, 1978, Ranch Mirage, California postmark as well. Accompanied by two 1978 letters from Ford’s assistant, Gloria Hill. The first one reads, in part: “Enclosed please find an envelope from President Ford’s stationery bearing his personal signature in the upper right-hand corner.” The second letter, sent a couple of months later, reads, in part: “After many inquiries at the Rancho Mirage Post Office, I was at last able to have an employee postmark the envelope.” In fine condition. As close to a Ford free frank as you may find.
