As congressman, Ford writes to the public relations director of the Republican Congressional Committee. In full: “For myself and on behalf of all House Republicans, I want to thank you for spending your evening last Tuesday in the ‘think tank’ which Bob Harmann set up for rapid analysis of the President’s State of the Union message. The suggestions of the group were extremely welcome and helpful to me; and what we didn’t get to at the Late, Late Show that night will continue to be useful in the future. This kind of all-out teamwork by Republicans helped achieve our gains of November, 1966; and I know we can count on it to continue and improve throughout the 90th Congress. We are off to a good start!” In fine condition, with mailing fold passing through bottom portion of his name, filing notation at top right border, and the original mailing envelope stapled at the top left corner.
