Soviet general (1896–1974) who led the defeat of the Germans at Stalingrad and the entry into Berlin during World War II. World War II–dated DS in Cyrillic, two pages, 8 x 11.5, June 21, 1940. Untranslated document promoting five enlisted men to the rank of Junior Lieutenant upon their graduation from school. Signed on the second page in pencil by Zhukov as commander of troops in Kiev, and countersigned by two other officials. In very good to fine condition, with creasing, and some paper loss along the left edge.
