Soviet general (1896–1974) who led the defeat of the Germans at Stalingrad and the entry into Berlin during World War II. DS, in Russian, one page both sides, 8 x 11.25, 1947. Attestation of the Head of the Department of Military Constructions of the Odessa Military District, Engineer Lieutenant Colonel Pavlov Evgeny Michaelovich. Interestingly, the attestation is very negative, with Zhukov writing at the bottom of the second page in blue ink, in part (translated): “Doesn’t cooperate to the position.” The page has been signed by Zhukov and other officials. In very good condition with uniform toning, and expected stamps and notations, binding holes, edge chips, and show-through from writing on reverse.
