Georgian era English Flintlock sword/pistol with fancy silver plated brass mounts, circa about 1760. The blade measure approx 24-1/2” and the arm is 31” overall, the barrel approx 2-1/2” with turned cannon style inapprox 44 cal with false rifling and screw off barrel. The left side of the breech shows a large “V” and “P” proof. The frame is nicely engraved in floral design and shows no makers name. The blade is attached to aforged lug on bottom portion of breech and the grip is elongated and thinner indicating this pistol was made as a unit. The metal surfaces are in good condition showing some minor pitting and light rust which wouldclean. The stock is lightly refinished long ago. Refer Wallis & Wallis auction catalogue 1977 when sold to our consignor. From an old New York collector’s estate. Est.;$2,000-$4,000.
