Georgia style Confederate pike with hand forged iron blade approx. 13” overall showing a heavy dark patina over scattered moderate pitting, brass collar between blade and wood shaft that is re-enforced with iron side pieces extending approx. 18” down the side of the wood shaft that is approx. 87” overall. The tail end of the shaft has an iron re-enforced tip that is approx. 7” overall. This pike appears to have considerable age and is in the style of the weapons used by the Confederacy against advancing Union cavalry or infantry. From the Richard Wolfe collection.
