French boxer (1894–1975) who was the only fighter ever to fight championship matches in every weight class. Vintage matte-finish 5 x 8 photo by A. Cutlet of Great Neck, of Carpentier sitting on the apron of a training ring, signed in fountain pen, “G. Carpentier.” In very good condition, with repaired tear to top left, crease extending in from left edge, scattered light silvering, and mounting remnants to reverse.
