George Wyllys. Secretary of Colony of Connecticut for sixty years, and considered the most eminent man in the Colony. Grandson of the first George Wyllys, who was Gov. of Conn. - and father of Sam Wyllys, who signed tens of thousands of pay orders during the Revolution. Manuscript listing, 2 pp., 1766, signed by George Wyllys (III), the two pages probably in his hand as well. Containing 30 entries, including copying of acts, commission to militia, payments to agents, etc. Although he was a Loyalist, his tenure of office was never interrupted. 61/2 x 73/4. Beautifully penned and worthy of framing.
