George Wilson, Penrith (1826-1882?) A VICTORIAN OAK AND INLAID MAHOGANY-CASED 8-DAY LONG-CASE CLOCK having a swan-neck pediment with concentric disc terminals flanking carved surmount, the arched glazed door between turned columns, the broad trunk with stringing and cross banding above a panelled ogee-arched door between turned half-columns on canted corners, the oak base with shaped panel and apron on integral bracket feet, the movement, striking the hours on one bell, having an arched dial painted with a young lady holding a wheatsheaf, her dog beside her, the dial, with Roman chapter ring, subsidiary seconds and date dials, inscribed GEO.
