George Washington (February 22, 1732–December 14, 1799) Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743–July 4, 1826). 2 x 7 ¾ cut paper excised from a larger document. Signed boldly in black ink by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Slightly toned paper and the ink has oxidized overt time. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson had worked together amiably and for much of their lives were friends. Both were masters of great Virginia plantations. They served together in the Virginia legislature and in the Continental Congress, Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence and Washington was the first President of the United States and Thomas Jefferson was the third.
