<B>George Washington Portrait 1/6 Plate Daguerreotype in Case.</B></I> Originally painted by Gilbert Stuart, this fantastic portrait is one which every child and adult recognizes. Everyone has sat in his or her desk in a schoolhouse somewhere and gazed at images of Lincoln and Washington, and those images are burned into our heads as children. It is these iconic images that have shaped the patriotic outline of our country. This is the famous "Athenaeum Head" which is also featured on the one-dollar bill. This close up version has been tinted slightly pink on the cheeks to give it more life.
