George Washington Light Dragoon Document Signed. One page, 16" x 20", Philadelphia, March 19, 1795. A military appointment of Lionel Covington as Lieutenant in the Light Dragoons. Washington was headquartered at Fort Mifflin on the Delaware River at this time. The printed text under the vignette across the top attractively proclaims: "George Washington, President of the United States of America". Wax Seal is intact, but paper on the seal is partly missing. Age-toned, with considerable wrinkling, some shrinkage to the vellum and some edge wear. Washington's signature is faded but still visible.
