<B>George Washington: A 1783-Dated Token Showing Him Wearing a Victor's Vine Wreath on his Head Surrounded by the Slogan "Washington & Independence".</B></I> The reverse features a seated figure of Liberty with the words "United States" above. This and similar tokens were made in Britain for the American market, demonstrating that manufacturers and merchants were quick to heal the wounds of war. A very attractive specimen with pleasing smooth medium brown patina, grading Very Fine or nearly so. Minor rim dent at 8:30.
