General George Patton typed letter signed, dated 30 November 1943, from Headquarters Seventh Army. Patton received command of the newly formed Seventh Army before the invasion of Sicily in the summer of 1943. The three star general writes to a Don Gold, in part: ''...anyone who can look himself in the face and say he has done his best has nothing to be ashamed of...Most sincerely, [signed] G.S. Patton Jr.'' The 8'' x 10'' letter is framed with a portrait of Patton to an overall size of 23'' x 16.25''. Near fine.
