This painting was created by the British painter George Paice in 1881. The artist presents a brown horse in a graceful pose, already saddled for riding, standing in front of a trimmed hedge with trees in the background.
The painting is signed and dated ‘Gerorge Paice. 1881’. It is in age-appropriate condition with some older retouching here and there. At the top right of the screen with a small color chipping. The canvas is relined. The Stretcher measures 51 x 68 cm. The framed dimensions are 64.5 x 82 cm. The frame also shows slight signs of use.
