Edwardian Rococo Revival sterling silver pedestal punch bowl, crafted by silversmiths George Nathan and Ridley Hayes. The body features deep repousse and chased decoration depicting scrolled acanthus leaves, floral blossoms, and grapevines with clusters of fruit set against a textured, stippled ground. Two large C-scroll cartouches flank the sides of the bowl. One side features an etched cursive presentation dedication from the Lipshies family to Allan B. Bernstein, reading, A Token of Esteem and Affection from Joseph and Norman Lipshie To Allan B. Bernstein Feb. 1959. The opposite cartouche remains vacant. The bowl is supported by a spreading, domed circular pedestal foot finished with a matching repousse band of floral sprays and scrolls. This centerpiece bowl has been tested with a Thermo Scientific Niton XL2 XRF precious metal analyzer to confirm silver purity. Upper body features full English hallmarks including the maker mark of G.N over R.H in a shield for George Nathan and Ridley Hayes, the lion passant for sterling silver, the Chester Assay Office town mark, and the cursive capital letter B date mark for 1902.
