George McManus - Bringing Up Father Sunday Comic Strip with Rosie's Beau Topper Original Art, dated 4-22-28 (King Features Syndicate, 1928). Bringing Up Father debuted in 1912, and, at first, alternated with two other George McManus strips, Rosie's Beau and The Newlyweds. As time went on, it became obvious that Bringing Up Father was the most popular of McManus' strips, and so Rosie's Beau became the topper for Bringing Up Father, while The Newlyweds was eventually phased out. This sensational Sunday has its matching date Rosie's Beau topper to accompany the featured Bringing Up Father story. Jiggs appears in every panel of this uproarious episode as he falls victim to a counterfeiter, and Maggie seems destined for the a stretch in the clink after Jiggs gives her some fake spending money. Talk about "mad money!" The Sunday has an overall image area of 16" x 21"; the page was cut between panel tiers three and four, and the two pieces have been carefully rejoined; otherwise the art is in Excellent condition. The Bringing Up Father title area was left blank and so, there is no glue staining. Don't miss out on this beautiful page, get your bids in today!
