American playwright, songwriter, and actor (1878–1942), widely regarded as the father of American musical comedy, who takes a place among the most beloved entertainers of his era. Two DSs: a memorandum of agreement between A. E. Thomas and Cohan, dated January 14, 1920, in which the former grants Cohan the rights to a dramatization “temporarily entitled ‘David's Adventure’”; and an agreement between Augustus Thomas and Cohan, dated January 26, 1921, in which the former grants Cohan the rights to “a certain original play or dramatic composition…entitled, ‘Nemesis.’” Both documents are signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Cohan, and countersigned by the respective authors. In overall fine condition.
