<B>George III pattern Third-Guinea, 1776,</B></I> by Richard Yeo. WR-137, rated R3 ("extremely rare," say Wilson and Rasmussen). Plain Edge with Lion on Crown reverse. Seldom seen in choice state; in fact, most noted by this cataloguer over the years were on planchets having flaws, not well centered, nor well struck. This coin is a happy exception to the rule! PR63 PCGS: an unusually Choice brilliant Proof with light hairlines (hence the 63 grade), well-centered and struck on a superior flan with very sharp details. Tin-silver streak on lion's crown, & buckled obverse die to right of king's face (normal on this).
