A George III Mahogany Tall-Case Clock Circa 1800, Hampshire, England, the dial signed "Jn. L Wynn/Alresford" for maker John Lawrence Wynn, the shaped hand-painted pediment over the silvered dial with black enamel Roman numeral hour marks and Arabic numerals every five minutes, subsidiary second and date dials, with a hand-painted case decorated with scrolling foliage, festooned urns, and still lifes, the central locking door decorated with dancing figures and a boy playing the lute, on bracket feet. 87"H X 19.25"W X 9.75"D.
Provenance: Private Collection. Condition: Overall Good Condition, with general scratches, nicks, separation at joints, shrinkage cracks and losses commensurate with age. Some bowing to veneers and an approximately 12" long loss to molding on face of base. Winds, runs and stops.
