<B>George III Half-Guinea, 1764.</B></I> S-3732. 2nd laureate head. Familiar crowned shield of arms on reverse (called the "rose guinea" on the larger version of this). MS62 NGC. Bright luster diminished only by slight disturbance on the high points. Nearly flawless surfaces in terms of abrasions, although there are some rusty-die lumps. Beautifully centered and sharply struck. One of the nicest to be found of this, the first date of this style. Catalogues for $850 (about $1,700) in EF grade, but this is far finer than nearly all others seen. George III had nine sons and six daughters, so surely he was a "busy man" during his early years!
