A wonderful family heirloom. This handsome sauce boat has a scalloped rim with a double C-Scroll
handle. The handle itself has a foliate scroll top. This gorgeous sauce boat stands on three leaf and scroll legs with stepped feet. Etched on each side is a Rampant Lion holding a Cross. The condition is excellent with no dings or cuts.
I have been unable to identify the date mark so I have included a picture of it. (Scratched by hand on the bottom is 1724.) My best guess is this is a George II c.1744. The armorial on both sides "suggests that the item was likely supplied by Parker and Wakelin..the Royal Goldsmiths of that period" from a knowledgeable friend.
