Delury arrived in Bodie in 1882. He bought the Temple Saloon (yes, the famous Bodie token) in the late 1880's. In 1898 he moved to Bridgeport where he had an extended career in public service. Lot of 15. There are many premier pieces in this collection of ephemera, but the oil stocks are on the top of the list. Around 1910 Mono Lake experienced an oil boom. The first drilling was done on the south tip of Paoha Island where an oil seepage had been found. Nothing came of this. In 1917 the DeChambeau Ranch became the scene of drilling.
