British statesman and politician (1770–1827) who served as Foreign Secretary and briefly Prime Minister. Third-person ALS, one page, 7.25 x 9, June 23, 1826. Letter reads, in part: “Mr. Canning is much obliged to Mr. Miller for the book which he has sent to Mr. Canning. Mr. Canning is afraid that it may be some time before he has leisure to look through the book.” In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, some scattered light toning, and clipped corner tips.
