Army general (1806–1879) in the Mexican-American and Civil War. Partly-printed DS, signed “Geo. Cadwalader,” one page, 21.5 x 17.5, November 6, 1872. Official certificate issued to Captain Robert Crossman 2nd for his “faithful services in maintaining the honor, integrity and supremacy of the Government of the United States of America was received as a Companion of the First Class of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Cadwalader. Crisp red seal affixed to lower left remains fully intact. Framed to an overall size of 23 x 19. In fine condition, with scattered creases.
