Two items: an official color satin-finish 9.75 x 8 White House photograph of George and Barbara Bush waving from a podium during their 1988 campaign push for the White House, signed and inscribed in black felt tip in the lower border, "Red—These Bushes and more send you our warm best wishes—Get well fast! We need you. George Bush, May 25, 1988." The reverse of the photo bears an affixed TLS signed "George Bush," 6.25 x 4.25 Vice President stationery card, May 25, 1988, addressed to "Red," in full: "Our good friend Gene Rostow tells me that you have been in the hospital. This is simply to send best wishes from all Bushes and to wish you a speedy and total recovery." In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing to the photo. The recipient, Red Sullivan, was a friend of the Bushes who worked as a plumber at Fort McNair.
