Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 22.75 x 18.5, November 25, 1991. President Bush appoints Francis S. M. Hodsoll of Virginia as "Deputy Director for Management, Office of Management and Budget." Boldly signed at the conclusion in black felt tip by President George Bush; also bears the autopen signature of Secretary of State James Baker III. The large white wafer seal remains affixed to the lower left. Handsomely framed to an overall size of 24.25 x 20. In very fine condition. Hodsoll had previously served as chair of the National Endowment for the Arts from 1981 to 1989. George Bush remains excessively rare in signed presidential appointments, with this example representing just the second that we have ever offered.
