''King of Comedy'' award presented to George Burns by 20th Century Fox and The Improvisation. Award is inspired by the studio's 1982 film, ''The King of Comedy'', a black comedy directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Robert DeNiro and Jerry Lewis. Regal trophy features a king's crown in gold tone with 8 segments of bright red felt, topped with a 3-pronged finial. Crown is mounted to a wooden base with engraved plaque featuring a cigar along the bottom edge and indicating this is the first annual ''King of Comedy'' award, issued to Burns on 1 February 1983. Trophy measures 10.25'' x 5.5'' x 5.5''. Weights 2 pounds, 8 ounces. Fine.
