Partly-printed DS, signed “G. Bernard Shaw,” one page both sides, 8 x 10, January 8, 1924. Document, labeled “Private” regarding “The Author’s Fees for Professional Productions.” Shaw will receive either 15% or 10% depending upon gross receipts. At the end of the first paragraph Shaw writes “Subscribers seats must be accounted for as if purchased at the door.” On the reverse, Shaw fills in a statement of permission which reads, “Subject to the terms and conditions printed on the other side of this sheet I hereby license The Queen’s Players to perform Fanny’s First Play for their own benefit exclusively at St. Matthew’s Hall, Warwick Road, Upper Clapton on the 19th January 1924.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and some scattered light toning.
