George Barris Knight Rider Upgrade Design Artwork. In the two-part premiere for the fourth and final season of the original Knight Rider TV series, the Knight Industries 2000 (aka KITT) was severely damaged during a mission in Chicago ("Knight of the Juggernaut"), and rebuilt in less than a day with some nifty new features. (The story was really an excuse to soup-up the car a little more, as well as the series' flagging ratings.) A supercar requires a super customizer, and so George Barris was asked to design the vehicle's (in reality a customized stock 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am) new "super pursuit" and convertible modes, the final cost of which was $250,000. This 17" x 14" design art (dated April 1985) features a series of 12 small ink sketches of concepts for the car's convertible mode, and has a photocopy of the overall car design pasted in the upper left corner. The artwork features a "Barris Kustom Industries" stamp in the upper right corner, and is in Excellent condition with a few areas of very faint soiling. From the George Barris Archive.

Shipping: Flat Material, Large (view shipping information)
