George Barris Beverly Hillbillies Truck Prototype Model. One of the most enduring images from The Beverly Hillbillies was that of the Clampetts tooling around Beverly Hills in their unmistakable vehicle, an early '20s flatbed truck festooned with rope and bailing wire. The original truck (five were used over the course of the series) was designed and built by Barris Kustoms in 1962, a restored derelict flatbed truck based on a cut down 1921 Oldsmobile touring car and a vintage truck chassis. Three decades later, Barris was asked to redesign the car for the 1993 movie adaptation, resulting in this prototype model for a monster truck version of the original vehicle. (True to its ancestry, the version seen onscreen was built from a 1921 Oldsmobile Model 46.) The model measures approximately 5.5" x 5" x 7.5" and is in Excellent condition. From the George Barris Archive.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Smal (view shipping information)
