Vintage linocut print on cream Japan paper, 9 x 14.5, of a three-quarter length portrait caricature of George Arliss in the title role of the play Disraeli, originally done by Life and New Yorker artist Alfred Joseph Frueh from his limited edition portfolio Stage Folk, published by Lieber and Lewis. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 14.5 x 20. In fine condition, with a bit of scattered mild foxing to background. Frueh worked for the New Yorker from 1925–1962. The 1922 publication of Stage Folk, featuring linoleum cuts of selected theater caricatures, met with great success, and represented his represent work from 1907-1922.
