Gold US 7th Cavalry hat insignia worn by General George Custer’s cavalry. Insignia measures 1.5 inches wide and features two crossed sabers in their scabbards, with a “7” attached at the bottom. Insignia is pinned to a card which reads, “U. S. Cavalry hat insignia worn by the famous General George Custer’s 7th Cavalry regiment at the battle of Little Big Horn,’ Montana Territory, June 25–26, 1876. Donated by Mr. J. Piergross, Aug. 1970.” The Robert Davis Collection.
