Available in this lot we have a Passenger box trunk belonging to Geo Taylor from the S.S. Teutonic. The box shows wooden construction with metal reinforcements on the corners and a protective coat covering the trunk. The front of the lid is marked with a metal plate reading "Geo Taylor Passenger S.S. Teutonic Liverpool to New York". The S.S. Teutonic was a British steam ship made in 1889 and was one of the first Armed Merchant Cruiser. The Teutonic was owned by White Star Line and traveled between Liverpool, England and New York, United States. The trunk shows two metal handles on each side with natural wood on the interior. The piece shows good condition overall with some wear due to age. The piece measures 37" wide by 24 1/4" deep and 15 1/2" tall.
