Gentleman's vanity chest with museum display card reading "Cedar Wood Chest given to Colonel Kit Carson by grateful citizens at the end of the Navajo expedition, 1864-1865 Loan - Wallace Cheetham"; along with copy of loan agreement dated June 4, 1955, signed by Wallace Cheetham, describing this wood chest, as "K.C. in shell on top of lid, owned by Kit Carson"; with other items that were loaned for display to the Kit Carson Memorial Foundation. Also, loan agreement describing chest loaned to Taos Historic Museum by Joyce Walpole, daughter of Wallace Cheetham. The Cheetham family in New Mexico were well-known pioneers who rented a houseto the Carson family at the turn of the century. This chest was obtained by a prominent Arizona collector from an auctioneer who represented Ms. Walpole, nee Cheetham. The chest measures approximately8-3/4" in height by 14-/14" in width and shows shell inlaid initials "K C" with a diamond shaped inlay at each corner. We are open Tuesday thru Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Little John's will be closed the Friday after the auction. Preview on October 27th 7 28th 9:00 to 11:00 am each day.

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
