Stage names of little people Charles S. Stratton and Lavinia Warren, who became one of the most popular ‘attractions’ managed by legendary showman P. T. Barnum. Ink signature, “Charles S. Stratton, known as Genl. Tom Thumb, Dec. 24th, 1881,” with his wife signing below, “Mrs. Charles S. Stratton, Hartford, Conn, Dec 24th, 1881,” on an off-white 5 x 8 lightly-lined sheet. Two horizontal folds (one passing through Thumb’s signature), a crease to the upper right corner, a few small tears along right edge, and a rusty paperclip mark to the top edge, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a full-length photo of Stratton.
