Texas document signed by Confederate General William Edmondson ''Grumble'' Jones who served at Gettysburg and was killed at the Battle of Piedmont. Single page document datelined Fort Merrill, Texas, November 1852 is signed ''W.E. Jones / 2nd Lieut. R.M.R.'' while serving with the U.S. Mounted Rifles. 8'' x 12.5'' document on blue-grey paper, folded into fourths, one fold through the signature. Very light staining to right edge and light creasing. Overall near fine.
