American little person and entertainer (1838–1883), born Charles Sherwood Stratton, who became one of the most popular and legendary “attractions” managed by legendary showman P. T. Barnum. Ink signatures, “Charles S. Stratton known as General Tom Thumb,” “Mrs. Charles S. Stratton, Madras, India, Dec. 3rd, 1870,” “Minnie Warren,” and “Commodore Nutt,” on an off-white 5 x 7.5 album page. In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold, scattered light toning, creasing, and soiling, and a couple small edge chips and tears. An uncommon chance to acquire signatures of all four members of Barnum’s internationally-known quartet.
