Concerns errors in the printed account of a speech he made at Literary Hall in Pittsburgh, in part: "...such a botch was made of it...This is not the first time the [Army and Navy] Journal has wilfully misquoted me and no doubt designedly..." He refers several times to Ward and Sheridan about whom he says: "...It is only charitable to suppose that he didn't know what he was talking about..." Fine condition with light folds and a couple of tiny minor stains. Originally purchased from Walter R. Benjamin Autographs.

One of the two Signatures is signed "J. Hooker Maj.
