<B>General John M. Brannan Autograph Letter Signed.</B></I> Signed: <I>Jno. M. Brannan,</B></I> one page, 5.25" x 8", Headquarters Department of the Cumberland stationery, Nashville, March 14, 1865. Brannan was a brigadier general who commanded a division at Chickamauga, and as Chief of Artillery was present at Missionary Ridge, Atlanta, and Jonesboro. This war-date letter was written to a tailor, in part: "<I>I wish you to make and send me as soon as possible (as I am about to take the field) a double breasted flannel sack coat, like the one you made for Genl. King</B></I>". In very fine condition; docketing information on page two and letter; light staining in upper left corner; usual folds are present.
