<B>General John F. Reynolds Document Signed</B></I> "<I>John P. Reynolds Maj. General, Army.</B></I>" Two pages, 7.2" x 9.8", Memoranda from Headquarters, March 15, 1863. This document has a head which reads, "<I>Daily Memoranda for information of the Major General Commanding.</B></I>" The document was used to write down orders and various data about the officer's regiment. The verso of this document has several lines of text written about various divisions; General Reynolds signs the document in the lower right corner. Reynolds was a well-respected and capable commander; he was loved by his soldiers and peers. He was killed at Gettysburg while overseeing the fighting near McPherson's Woods. He was struck in the neck with a bullet and died almost instantly. He signed these orders only months before he was killed. The document is in very fine condition; usual folds are present; stain present on the lower right corner. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
