Official Confederate telegraph to General Beauregard headed Tuscumbia, Alabama, Nov. 12, 1864, concerning troop movements of Forrest's famous cavalry, as follows: "By order of Lt. Gen. Taylor- Maybry's Brigade will be left at this place, Maybry has 300 men here and 700 on the way-if this force is sufficient, and I think it is- Col. Patterson now on duty here might be relieved and ordered back to Gen'l Roddey- N.B. Forrest, Maj. Gen'l." Endorsed on verso by Gen. Beauregard as follows:"Nov. 14, 1864-approved but referred to Genl Taylof-G.T.B.." At this time Gen.
