Gene Kranz's bracket-bound NASA manual entitled "Apollo Guidance, Navigation and Control, Users' Guide to Skylark GN&CS Major Modes and Routines," prepared by the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, dated January 1973, approximately 465 pages, 8.5 x 11, signed on the cover page in black felt tip, "From my FOD Console bookcase in mission control—Gene F. Kranz." The manual consists of 11 sections, with section eight seemingly omitted: Introduction, Prelaunch, Boost, Coasting Flight Navigation, Prethrusting, Powered Flight, Alignment, Routines, Additional Extended Verbs, and Docked DAP. This manual describes selected design considerations and functional and procedural techniques necessary to give the reader a basic understanding of the Skylark GN&CS major modes, routines, and extended verbs. The overall format of the document retains the same as that of the Apollo Users' Guide. Housed in its original maroon folder labeled "MIT–GSOP" and marked "1-2-5." Spine of manual marked in red felt tip: "Skylark, User Guide." In very good to fine condition, with general light overall wear from use. SKYLARK is the Apollo Guidance Computer software that replaced COLOSSUS (and was adapted from it) in the command modules used for the Apollo-Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz missions.
