Mr. Puddy is the flight director selected to lead the approach and landing test effort. He is the man responsible for controlling the operation from umbilical disconnect in the mating device, through the actual flight test including final rollout. This simulation involved the JSC flight test including final rollout. This simulation involved the JSC flight control team and the captive/active one flight crew (Haise and Fullerton)"; and a scarce 6.5 x 3.5 cover with typed caption, "This cover was carried in the Mission Control center during Space Shuttle Integration Simulation Test," postmarked March 29, 1977, which has been signed in black ink by Puddy, “Donald R. Puddy,” who fills out the following fields to the left side: Date “March 25, 1977,” Test type “Free Flight 1, Integrated Simulation,” Remarks “First Free Flight Simulation using the Four Computer Redundant Set,” and Title “ALT Flight Director.” In overall fine condition.
